Custom button to bring up a search box to search Leads RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey everyone.  I'm familiar with creating custom buttons in CRM.  I'm just wondering, how would I put one under Leads so when clicked, it opens a window with a search box where we can enter a company name, and it will search and display the results of all Leads that have that company name?

I know it's possible as my parent corporation uses CRM 4.0 as well, and we have a button at the top called Account Search.  When we click it, it opens a new window with a text entry box where we can enter accounts and it searches for them.  (We have this because it's even further programmed to show the names of accounts that aren't in our business unit, but I don't need that).  Just wondering if there's a dummies guide to enabling this?

  • The search functionality you mentioned (for account) seems to be custom ISV solution. It is not our of box functionality.

You also need to develop or configure old application to show leads result.
