Problem wtih Jar files. Turn to notepad? and error with Video's

  Awhile back all of my files were working fine but recently a problem has come up that is making all my jar files into a notepad file and the only thing I can watch my video's on is Movie Maker???. I have tried to Click on open with on my videos but all it comes up with it "Notepad" or look for another app in the store. This is a big problem since I usally record with OBS and when it automatically puts the video onto movie maker, nothing happens?. The other issue is with my Jar files, for some reason they always turn to notepad files and I'm not sure how to change that. Please Help.
