nsmbt5.exe - What is it? HELP RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I have found my Laptop (Lenovo T61 running XP-Pro) has been running at 100% CPU..  When I checked, there were 5 instances of an application called nsmbt5.exe running..

I deleted them from the Task Manager and the CPU usage returned to normal..  The next boot up they started again..  I removed the file from the windows/system32 directory (There were also files called nsmbt1 thru 4 in there).  I removed them all..  the next day, same problem, but now the file name is nsmbt6.exe.

I have run AVG and Adaware against both the hard drive and the specific file and it did not find anything wrong..

Searching google, bing and the MS support site is not even getting a hit???  HELP????
