Vista activated but validation says not RRS feed

  • got the same sort of prob my Vista is activated but showing up as not Genuine

    i had to activate by phone, as the 1st time the install messed up big time

    and if i go and try and get Genuine it say's .

     

    Windows must be activated before validation can determine if this copy of Windows is genuine.

    Access to the latest updates, all available features, and product support is reserved for customers running genuine Microsoft software. Until you activate and validate Windows, certain features of Windows Vista may be disabled.

    Steps You Can Take

    Activate now, and then run validation again.

    You can activate either online or by phone. To activate online you need an Internet connection. Activating by phone requires interacting with an automated phone system.

    To activate Windows on this computer:

    • Click the Start button, click Computer, click Properties, click Click here to activate Windows now. Windows Activation opens.
    • Select the method you want to use to activate, and then follow the prompts or instructions on the screen.

    Once Windows is activated, validate your copy of Windows again by going to http://www.Microsoft.com/genuine and clicking Validate Windows.

    took a good 30 mins but all ok now.

    he thinks it somthink to do with OEM ver of vista.

    gave me new key and all working smooth so far Smile

    If your System Properties window is showing that you're activated and online validation says you're not, please


    1. Phone activate.  You can start by typing "slui 4" in the search field in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. Follow the prompts through phone activation (be ready for lots of numbers) and then reboot.

     

    2. Once you're done, please revalidate by clicking on "Validate Windows" here: www.microsoft.com/genuine


    After you've validated successfully you can log out and log back in or reboot to get rid of any non-genuine messaging you may be getting.

  • I have a copy of Windows Vista Ultimate UOM which I purchased from a computer retailer.  It is activated but when I try to validate my copy to access additional downloads I get this error message: "Windows must be activated before validation can determine if this copy of Windows is genuine."  If I open up my computer it tells me that windows has been activated.  I tried re-entering my CD key and the reactivating windows which I did with no problem but the validation still fails.  Aero and dreamscene are now turned off and my machine is full of annoying pop-ups telling me that I have an invalid license for something I paid a significant amount of money for.  What can I do to get this corrected?

  • I am not getting any results typing "slui 4" as you suggested in the previous post but need to call in to phone activate. can you provide the US phone number?

     

    Update....

     

    Never mind. Got the Volume MAK from the License Admin and that fixed my issue.

     

    It's odd that you guys mention 4/16 as the cut date for this issue. did something happen in your systems on that date? I happened to notice in my Windows Update history that the most recent Malicious code removal tool was installed on that day. Coincidence?

  • Yes , i activate my Ultimate by Phone several times "successful" but my fresh installed System do not change the Status after Reboot.

    i tell this Problem on Wednesday this Week to Technical Support , i dont know the Name from this Agent . The Number is SRQ070509601807

     

    He says to me , Try Telephon Activating but this do not solve the Problem . He says to me my Licensenumber are valid and OK but he think i have a "non-MS Script" working on my Vista Ultimate but why i need a Crack if i have a genuine Vista Ultimate license  from a Shop since January on my PC ?! hmm

    Yesterday i have fresh reinstalled Vista Ultimate , after installing all Updates ect. i tray a telephon Activating and active the License "successful" . Yesterday evening  i go to Microsoft Genuine Webside and this tell to me "Active you Windows" . WTF !? and Vista go to NonGenuine Mode after Reboot.

    Than i go to this WGA Forum and download this MGA Tool , this says to me My License are Invalid. The Question is What are doing this Supporter on Wednesday ?!

    The Supporter say to me on Wednesday, he is Calling Back Thursday to Look if are my License working but Nobody call back on Telephon yesterday .

    Since Hours i Know that my Licensenumber are Blacklisted (see MGADiag in my Post before) since Days ?! or so ... what doing Microsoft to help me, Say to me "your License OK but you apply a crack".

  • Hi, Voyager, I'm pretty sure your key is not blacklisted, I have excatly the same problem with my (also german) Windows Vista Ultimate OEM. The reason is very simple - I installed my Windows Vista for testing purpose on my laptop and I was so sure that the same problems will occur but - everything worked on it... I even brought my Vista license back to my vendor (ARLT), and they checked it on a test PC - also no problem...

     

    But because of any unkown reason, the WGA validation on Microsoft's website fails for my and for your PC, but the reason is not a blacklisted key...

     

    And if I can give you an advise... create a hard disk image of your Vista partition before you activate or - perhaps more intelligent - after you activated but before you start the WGA validation on microsoft.com. You will see that your activated Vista will show a valid license in MGADiag until you run the validation check on microsoft.com. I compared the two reports before and after the validation and they are completely identical except of the "Validation status" and "Detailed status".

     

    And don't be so ugly to the support here - you've bought OEM software and in that case, Microsoft doesn't needs to help you, it's your software vendor who has to support you.

    i dont understand what you mean ? i have 2 "running and licensed" Acronis Images from 15.4. and 4.5. and if rewrite one of that  Image and go to Check the License than Genuine Webside say "Activate your Windows" .

    I have Windows Vista since Beta 2-Testing and have since that Time no Problems with a activated License . My Buy-Version are from end of January and since that Time i have work with Activation without Problems , i can load Updates with Genuine Checks .

    Since 2-3 Days my License is "not Activated" say this Genuine Webside and this MGADiag Tool says my License are Invalid ....

    Im not a idiot and know that "Problem" is not on my PC ! 

     The Software Vendor "Hardwareversand.de" do not Shutdown my Ultimate Version to a Basic Version with Genuine Popups.

  • Thanks , a very friendly Microsoft Supporter in Dortmund Germany checks my Problem and Phone two Times to me. He give me as Result a New Vista Ultimate Key and now Activation is good and WGA check also good.
