Window's Live ID not working to access Microsoft Money RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got a new computer running windows 7, I am trying to use Microsoft Money Plus and I have created two Windows Live IDs, neither of which are working.  One is connected to my gmail account and the other was a hotmail account I created when my gmail address didn't work. During the initial Microsoft Money Plus setup, I am on the page that says, "Sign in to you Money file" and has fields for a Windows Live ID and password. When I put in both ID(s) and passwords, two boxes popup on the screen, the first says, "The new file 'C:\Users\user\Documents\My Money.mny' cannot be created" and the second says, "The email address or password is incorrect. Please try again".  I've logged into Windows Live with both addresses and passwords successfully, so I'm sure I'm not typing them incorrectly.  What can I do?

  • The latest, (unsupported, free), versions of MSMoney do not require or use passwords. Depending on your location (i.e.country) download installation files from one of the 2 messages at the top of the forum. Probably best uninstall your current version. One wonders idly why you are using an old OS on a new PC but that's a different issue.
