Internet Explorer history problem

I have Vista Home Basic OS and my browser IE9 has stopped storing my history. I've already adjusted the storage space by 100 MB and lengthened the number of days to 400. IE9 still won't store anything new, but has my history up to 5 weeks ago. How can I get IE9 or Vista Home Basic to allow me to store Web history again? Any settings I should adjust or tweak?
