"Live Mesh desktop not available" warning message on device

Question
-
One of my devices (Vista 32bit) started showing a warning sign with "Live Mesh Desktop is not available". I can connect to the device just fine, but the message still appears.
I tried following the help instructions to enable remote desktop enhancements:
How do I enable the Live Mesh Remote Desktop enhancements after I've added a device?
- Open the notifier (The pane that appears when you click the Live Mesh icon in the notification area of your Windows taskbar. Gives you access to the folders, devices, and news in your mesh.) .
- Click the System notifications icon
, then click Configure Live Mesh Remote Desktop.

Hi MsMesh,
I have a couple of follow up questions for you that might help resolve your issue:1. Did you reboot your device (the XP 32bit computer) after installing the Live Mesh software? It is possible that the driver needs a reboot.
2. Are you running that machine in admin or non-admin mode?
Live Remote should be installed by default on XP systems, so you shouldn't be seeing this warning. If you're still having this problem after rebooting the machine, please submit a bug report and attach your logs so that the team can look into this for you.
To submit a bug report with logs:Please go to http://connect.microsoft.com/. Sign in and then select Live Mesh Tech Preview on Your Dashboard. Click Feedback and follow the instructions for collecting your logs and then submit a bug.
To get your logs:
1. Click Start.
2. Select All Programs and look for the Live Mesh folder.
3. Click Collect Live Mesh Logs.
4. Your logs will be bundled together in a cab file now located on your desktop.
Attach your LiveMeshLogs.cab file located on your desktop to your bug.Note: you will have to submit a bug first, then edit it to attach your logs.
If you do not have access to the Live Mesh Connect site, you can email your logs to lmprev@microsoft.com. Please provide as much information about your issue as you can in that email.
Thanks,

We started deploying an update a few hours ago which is causing some temporary website issues. You might notice icons or buttons missing when visiting http://www.mesh.com or accessing your Live Desktop. These issues will disappear as soon as we’ve completed the servicing process.
If you were using Live Mesh between 12:30pm PST and 2:30 pm PST time, you might have to delete your temporary internet files. Follow the links for instructions for Internet Explorer and Firefox. This should solve any display issues on the Live Mesh website.
Today’s update includes:
· Performance and reliability fixes based on Tech Preview customer usage patterns.
· Fixes to the Live Desktop Silverlight player to address common customer reported errors.
If you are still experiencing issues, please report them to the Live Mesh Forum and we will investigate shortly.
Thank you,
Nadia Fortini

Hi Ben,
I have just installed Live Mesh (0.9.2815.12) and I cannot find the System Notification Icon on the Notifier panel. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong.

Hi George,
Would you mind walking me through the steps you took when installing the Live Mesh software? Have you restarted your computer? Have you tried starting Live Mesh from the Start Menu? I'll do my best to help you figure out what's going on.
Thanks,

I am also unable to find the Systems notification icon as described here ... http://help.live.com/help.aspx?project=wl_core&market=en-us&querytype=topic&query=wl_core_proc_optimizeremoteaccess.htm
Yes I have restarted my computer. Yes I have tried running the program from the start menu. Everything works, but the remote desktop feature and I am unable to find the icon I need to get to, to install what documentation tells me to install.
I am currently using Live Mesh 0.9.3424.14.
Much thanks.

Do you have the Live Mesh notifier running in the system tray on the PC?
What operating system on the PC that you are trying to connect to?

I was able to fix this by removing the device from the Live Mesh Desktop and adding a new device. The software will be reinstalled.
