  • Hello Pure Minded,

Please allow me to comment on your post point-by-point.

Thank you for your suggestions regarding the marketing plan for the upcoming release of Windows 7.  I'm sure the staff here will forward your suggestions to the Windows 7 Marketing Team where they will receive the attention that they warrant.

I would like to inform you that there are alternatives to Microsoft Operating System and Productivity software, many of which are free to use.  The fact that hundreds of millions of people continue to buy "overpriced" Microsoft software when free alternatives are available says something about the value these millions of people get from Microsoft products.

You may want to make an appointment with your dermatologist if your are having problems with your "pore" and with your Primary Care physician is you are feeling sick.

As much you would like for Bill Gates to fall off the face of the earth, presently this is not possible due to the monopoly that Apple, Inc. (SYMBOL- AAPL) has on Gravity, due to the fact that, as it is the center of the known universe, it is responsible for the Force of Gravity and how much Gravity is exerted upon any given object on the Face of the Earth.  Please call 408-996-1010 and ask to speak with a Mr. Steven P. Jobs to dicsuss any modifications you wish to make.

It would be inadvisable to burn your CD.  However if you do, you may request a replacement CD by following the steps in this MS KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246  Prior to burning your CD, you may want to apply for a burn permit at the Redmond Fire department: http://www.redmond.gov/insidecityhall/fire/prevention/permitsgeneral.asp  If you are having trouble voiding your bladder and would not be able to put out the fire for which you will be submitting a request for a burn permit, while you are visiting your Primary Care Physician you may want to get an appointment to see a Urology specialist.

    Have a nice day! :-)

Sounds good., thats so funny adding about burn permit. no but really. Microsoft really needs to lower the price on its Windows or allow the end user
buy windows for 150 bucks for Vista Ultimate / Windows 7 Ultimate. for the Retail. i do recall buying Windows Vista Ultimate for 300.00 bucks in wich is way overpriced. and with this eveyday econmey in hurt and more people losing there jobs who can pay for windows being 300 bucks really., and also Apple is a joke also., but they don't sell there Mac OS 10 for 300.00 bucks do thay ? No. Maybe microsoft in the furture may move Windows to Linux base windows.

  • Hello Pure Minded,

Microsoft tradtionally retails both full installation licenses and upgrade licenses for its desktop OS and application software.

Usually the upgrade is priced about $100 less than the full.

I think you'll find that Windows 7 pricing is going to be pretty much more of the same.  I would expect a retail upgrade from Vista Ultimate to Win7 Ultimate to be priced at more than $199 but less than $250.

    Here's a juicy tidbit for ya:  http://www.istartedsomething.com/20090606/best-buy-memo-leaks-windows-7-pricing/

It's not a simple task to compare Mac pricing to Windows pricing.  The Mac OS is licensed to run ONLY on Mac hardware, so even though the sale price of the Mac OS looks "cheap" in comparison to Windows, when you factor in the well-known Mac price premium (how much more a similar collection of hardware costs when an Apple label is on it as compared to a Dell/HP/Lenovo/etc) label is on it), it becomes a lot less "cheap."  Also, over the course of the last eight years, you would have had to buy six releases of Mac OS X but only two releases of Windows.  It probably all washes out pretty close.

The "premium" price comes from the quality software. So far I haven't seen a Windows computer with as many useful programs as Macs have.
