Reset command bar 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We made changes using the Ribbon Workbench but it totally messed up the show/hide display of buttons. Even though we have items available in the ribbon they are not showing. Does anyone know how to reset the command bar in 2013?

  • Export your customized entity, extract customizations.xml and replace the the ribbon definition in the customized entity with an uncustomized ribbon definition. Replace everything between <RibbonDiffXml> and </RibbonDiffXml>.

To get an uncustomized ribbon defintion, you can export the same entity from an uncustomized CRM organisation. The default ribbon definitions for Microsoft Dynamics CRM can also be found in the SDK. (If not a custom entity.)

Here are instructions to export, extract and import the ribbon xml.

  • Hi,

To remove a hide action you should open your solution in the Ribbon Workbench, locate the Hide Actions node in the Solution Elements panel and expand it. For each Hide Action you can right-click->Delete. Publish your solution and then re-load it. Your buttons will be visible again.

    Hope this helps,
