Hello Blackelk,
If I understand correctly, Microsoft Update is trying to install Office Notifier (Update KB949810) but it's failing to install with the error 0x80070643.
The fact that the update is failing to install does not mean your office is Non-genuine. It only means there is an issue with Microsoft Update installing that update.
Even thought it is our update, it's Microsoft Update that is delivering and installing it. If the update is having problems installing, I recommend going to the Microsoft Update support page (http://support.microsoft.com/ph/6527#tab0). There are many support and self-help articles. If that doesn't help, click the link in the upper right of the Microsoft Update Support page and open a free support request with Microsoft Update.
Hop that helps,

Hello Blackelk,
I always try "Dial-a-Fix" when working on a computer with stubborn Windows Update problems.
Do an internet search for Dial-a-Fix v0.60, download it and see if it works for you! Let us know....
For great advice on all topics XP, visit http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxpFriday, September 11, 2009 3:20 AM -
Hello, I didn't know "Dial-a-Fix" and it's a very usefull software ;that help me ;after fixing "windows update" and flush "sofware distribution" with "Dial-a-fix" ; I did a second choice I read on a forum (I think it's nearly the same than Dial-a-fix but manually)==> I delete the file Edb.log and also the folder catroot2 and I execute cmd/regsvr32 licdll.dll and also Regsvr32 regwizc.dll ;I delete all the files in \WUTemp and I reboot. I went to http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=fr and I don't have anymore request for "notifications of office genuine" .I went to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx?displaylang=en and I validate successfully my windows and my office. Now I didn't upgrade to microcoft update program because everything is ok and the settings are on automatic updates ,what else can I ask ......So I want to thank you for your quick help and have a good time .Friday, September 11, 2009 8:00 AM
