How to print a Workflow in CRM 2011? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In CRM 4, one could print an entire Workflow, to troubleshoot and debug for instance.

In CRM 2011, when printing a Workflow, only the header and the first few steps are sent to the printer, no matter which printer settings are used.  I like to think this is a bug; it worked in 4.  It does not in 2011.

Anyone figured this out - short of buying additional software such as screen grabbers?

    Thanks,

    Henri

  • If you just want a copy of the workflow UI form then you could press the keys Alt-PrtScrn while viewing the workflow and then open Paint and press Ctrl-V .

  • Rhett,

Thanks.  But that doesn't work well with long(er) worklows; or at least it is very tedious.

There is a PRINT button on every workflow. Why does it not print the (entire) workflow?

  • Hi Henri,

I've tested this and I can't also print the entire workflow stream. I guess you need to get those tools that do a print screen inside a window and automatically scroll down but you already know this :)

    good tools for this here:

  • How about pressing Ctrl-N while viewing the workflow so you get a new window with the IE Print option. Then choose (IE9) Print->Print Preview. See if it displays better detail for you, my tests show it doesn't get cut like the OOB form print feature.
