Rumor about whs 2008 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I've heard people discussion about an upcoming version of whs, based on windows server 2008. True or false?
I'm asking as I'm still on my 120 day test period, and would like to know if there's a new version coming soon or if I should buy the existing whs based on 2003.
There are a few things in server 2008 R2 which seems great. To be able to use DirectAccess to connect to my home network from any internet location would be awsome!

  • You should buy the current version.

The only people who can say anything about possible future versions of the product work for Microsoft. Anyone else is either spreading rumors (true or false) or violating an NDA. Given that Microsoft hasn't announced the imminent release of a new version, it's safe to say that you won't be seeing it in the next, say, 3 months.

Also, for announcements about future versions of the product, this forum is not a good place to look. Try the Windows Home Server blog .
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
