Remote Desktop Shows a blank black screen

Question
-
When I connect to my remote office PC I get a blank black screen with just the Mesh Connection bar at the top of the window. Both PCs running mesh have two monitors with the resolution settings the same(1280x1024). My VPN connection does work properly when I use it.Friday, December 5, 2008 5:57 AM

Hi,
Are you logged into your computer using an administrator account? Sometimes the black screen is an indication of Live Mesh Remote Desktop in non-admin mode.
If you are logged in as an administrator, we would like to take a look at the Live Mesh logs from both computers. If you could collect them and open a bug on our Connect site, we'd appreciate it. Instructions are in an Announcement at the top of the forums.
Thanks,

Can you have a look at what display drivers you have installed in the Device Manager? If you've got any other remote access software, like VNC, then that may be an issue. I found the exact same problem - black screen on remote connection - until I uninstalled a separate remote access software that used VNC. And there was a distinct VNC driver in the list of devices. Once that was gone, I got the proper screen appearing.
