Screensaver lockout on Windows 7

Question
-
I had a password on screensaver for best part of 4 years, recently when I restarted the computer it requested password to open screensaver like any other time. When I entered the password it told me it was incorrect. Message directed me to log onto another tdevice and reset passowrd, this I duly did and it worked. However when I logged on a day later it asked as normal for password and when I keyed it in it was incorrect. I changed password again but to no avail. I have changed it for the 3rd time since last week still no access. need help Thanks
