RE: MITEL 3300 SIP TRUNK TO OCS 2007 communication ? Has anyone managed to get calls working between their Mitel 3300ICP and Office Communications Server 2007? I have got as far as the call being passed all the way from Office Communicator 2007 via the OCS server... via an OCS Mediation Server to the Mitel ICP Controller but always get "SIP/2.0 404 Not Found" back from the controller's IP Address (i'm using Ethereal) If anyone's trying to do the same and wants to know what i've done i'm more than happy to compare notes. There must be a genius out there somewhere who can help me :-) ...please! Thanks v much T

How are you connecting the SIP trunk from the Mitel to the Mediation server?

On OCS MS I have the mitel controller's address in the "Next Hop Connections" under "PSTN Gateway next hop", port 5070 (as specified in the mitel config)
Then on the mitel controller...
I have a "Network Element" "sip peer" set up with the FQDN of the mediation server and SIP Peer transport set to "TCP" and port 5060.
and
I have a SIP Peer profile for my network element which has the following settings on "yes":
-
Enable Mitel Proprietary SDP
-
Use alternative Destination Domain (set to my SIP domain)
-
Force sending SDP in initial invite message
...and Authentication for incoming calls: No Authentication
Is that what you meant or am i being a plum?
Thanks,
Thad

Hey Thad,
I've seen you on other boards with these questions. Got any answers yet? I have the same situation (:

My understanding is that Mitel will not offer direct SIP integration with OCS until 8.1, which is scheduled for release next month.Friday, January 18, 2008 7:46 PMModerator

Hi, Mike this is not entirely true. Mitel delivers at the moment:
- direct SIP integration to Exchange UM 2007
- RCC control to OCS with LBG (version 3.1)
Integration into mediation server (with SIP trunk), where calls from and to OCS endpoints (Tanya / MOC etc) can be made, is technically working on the current 8.0UR1 but will be officially GA'd with 8.0UR3. This is due to be released in the next 1 or 2 months.
Hope this adds.

Yes, RCC and UM work today (and have for some time). I was referring to Enterprise Voice without the need for a media gateway. Interesting to know that you've already had success with this configuration prior to the official release.

Hi Mike,
as far as I know has Mitel announced following OCS PBX coexistence scenario to come in Spring 2008:
- pc to phone support (sip trunk from ICP 3300 to Mediation Server without GW)
- LBG 3.1 for Telephony status and RCC
- using mobile extension technology to "fork" calls from 3300 ICP to Communicator 2007
Hope that helps;-)

Michael, Mike, and SpongeVOIP - thanks for your replies.
SpongeVOIP can you share any info on making it technically work? (even if it's just a bodge that I can use for a demo to my boss!)
I feel that I have tried EVERYTHING so chances are (as you've all kind-of confirmed) the support just isn't there yet.
Once it's released and i've upgraded I will endeavour to come back and answer this thread myself
Thanks again,
Thad

Thad, I did not visit this forum for some days.....so a little delayed.
I assume you are familiair with the 3300 setup, so I only mention the SIP peer options to set on Yes:
- Enable Mitel Proprietary SDP
- Disable Reliable Provisional Respones
- Ignore Incoming Loose Routing Information
- Use Last Negotiated Port For SDP
- Supress Use Of SDP Inactive Media Streams
- Enable Special Re-invite Collision handling
- Enable Sending "+" for E.164 numbers
- Force Sending SDP in Initial Invite Message
- Prevent the Use of IP Address 0.0.0.0 in SDP messages
All the other set to NO, the rest of the SIP trunk (trunk service / route / ARS digits) and DID ranges for incomcing calls from OCS are as normal programming. Ofcourse there is some stuff to be done on OCS, mediation etc.
Hope this adds.

Hi,
that's not true. Mitel with Software Release 8.0UR3 is able to SIP-Trunk to OCS Mediation Server. I got it running;-)
If someone want's to implement this, feel free to contact me under michael.kmitt@infowan.de. There's a setup document I got from Mitel netherlands which describes the trunk setup process. Or have a look on the corresponding article of Joachim Farla's UC Blog under http://unified-communications.blogspot.com/2008/03/80ur3-released-from-mitel.html
