Correct Answer to "Going offline soon" RRS feed

  • Question

  • I live with my parents and if i decide not to have the internet in anymore, can i still use my "Genuine" windows xp home pc offline.

I have installed the genuine advantage notification tool, so if my pc is offline for some period, I will not be able to connect to the internet my pc's installation be rendered useless? Can the genuine tool be removed?

I don't want to be re-activating windows every 5 mins, lol

  • Hi crodgersz,

If the tool has deemed your Windows XP Home as Genuine then when you go offline, by design, the tool will do nothing and you will stay in a Genuine status.

If, however, the Tool has deemed your windows as Non-Genuine then when you go offline, it will stay in a Non-Genuine status until you take steps to make your Windows Genuine.

    Thank you,
