IIs and Installing Frontpage Server Extensions RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Using VS 2008 I want to create a website on my WHS which is running IIS.  The problem is that it needs FrontPage Server Extnetions installed.  When I remote into my WHS and try to install via the add programs it starts but then asks for a disk (Windows Small Business 2003).  I have tried using the WHS disk but to no avail; it cannot find a dll it is looking for.  Thus my question is - is there any way to get FrontPage Server Extnsions installed.

    Thanks

  • Hi Kevin,
Frontpage extensions are rather outdated and even conflicting with other web services, i.e. SharePoint services or Windows Desktop Search.
Between you should be aware, that using WHS that way is not supported and may have strange side effects.

Check the threads here and here for experiences, other WHS users made.
