I think it would be sufficient to have a search filter which did:   NOT intitle:verify

  • I tried to get the policy changed to delete the useless "Verify Me" posts, but for some reason, they want to keep them.  No idea what use they possible serve.  But maybe if we lock them, then we would at least have fewer in the front.

  • Because account verifying is one of the most frequent issues.

It's no doubt you can post any forum issue for help here in this forum.

  • There already is a thread for Verifying users.  Having each of them make a new one only to be redirected to the real one and not deleting the useless one only clutters up the forums for everyone.  If we locked those useless threads, at least they would bubble up every time someone posted a "Me too" reply without reading the sticky thread for Verification.

Or an even better idea would be to fix the embarrassing manner in which users are verified in the first place.  A company such as Microsoft should be able to come up with a better way than "Verify Your Account 27".  Seriously.

Yes this verification policy is completely absurd. If the forum interface must be used, then thre should be a separate forum that does not contaminate the Forum Issues forum.

But these posts are not about issues with the verification process; they are the verification process itself. It makes no sense for these posts to completely dominate the Forum Issues forum.

  • You are right. It should be considered to create an independent "Account Verifcation" forum for these process posts.
