My apologies if this is already covered somewhere, but I looked around for a while and didn't see anything. My problem is that I created a 4.9gp panorama, which I cropped to a little over 2gp - but the only exporting options are the photoshop one and the
HD Zoom one. I've previously created panorama with hundreds of megapixels and was able to export to JPG, so I'm wondering if there is a certain size limit for that option. I really want to upload this image to zoom.it for viewing, but without being able to
export it as a ridiculously big JPG I'm not going to be able to do it. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.
I believe you are running into a size maximum for jpg files. The JPG standard sets the maximum size of 65532 X 65532 so you may be trying to save your panorama that is too wide. The theoretical maximum size for JPG files is 4GB but you may be
limited by the software, disk drive format, etc. You might try to save the files as a TIF as it's maximum file size is 4GB. I have personally saved ICE panorama images as TIFF file format of almost 4GB so it does work. I use Windows
7 - 64 bit with NTFS file system (if it matters). You can use "Windows Photo Viewer" to view TIFF files and it allows you to zoom and pan around the image.
But it would be nice to have updated image file standards that can support the extremely large panorama files (Hint, hint,...) generated by programs like ICE. But I guess that's where "DEEP ZOOM" comes into play.
