i have two windows xp on my computer RRS feed

  • i had to do a system recovery and it made my home edition not fully installed so i got a dicsk to install windows xp and it had pro on it so now i have two windows ex on my computer> how do i get rid of the home edtiton? ALSO THE PRO KEEPS SHUTING DOWN TO PROTECT MY COMPUTER FROM DAMAGE BECAUSE IT HAS DETECTED A PROBLEM, WHAT COULD BE COUSING IT?

  • Have you gone to Start> C:\>right click >OPEN>Tools>folder options   and toggled to <Show Hidden and System Folders>? Then try to delete the extra folders?
    They might have a (2) in parenthesis to denote a copy of files that are the same as the previous install.
    I am just ballparking here, but you may have to format the disk and start all over with a clean install.

    IT standards are so wonderful because there are so very many of them to choose from.

  • overlaying 2 similar OS can caus ethe issue of the registry not knowing who to beleive pro key or home key
    if home is there you  can tyr to log into the admin area of the os and remove the pro but you might jsut end up redoing the whole mess again depending on how f  ed up your os is
