CRM UI breaks while importing Option Set value longer than CRM limits RRS feed

  • I have faced an issue while importing option set data in CRM. In my Contacts data there is a custom option set field named “Category” and one of its option value is “ABCD STAFF, ABCD BOARD, ABCD PUBLIC SAFETY COMMITTEE, ABCD PUBLIC REALM COMMITTEE, ABCD MARKETING COMMITTEE, ABCD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE”. When I imported this data in CRM, Source fields were visible but CRM fields to map them were not visible. This was because option set value was too long due to which CRM option values adjacent to them were not visible to map. I had to remove records with these value and update respective records manually. Please let me if there is a way to resolve this.

  • Your best bet is to shorten the name of the option set value.  Trying to display an option that long is a terrible experience in CRM anyway.
