Domain Required for Deployment? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Just evaluating CRM at present. Going through the install and I get challenged for my OU.

Thing is we don't have AD. The box is running Windows 2003 but is in a workgroup.

Can someone confirm if CRM does indeed require AD?

There's no mention of this in the System Requirements.

    Thanks In Advance,

    Gilly

As David rightly says, AD is a mandatory requirement as is having a SQL Server.

If you are looking to evaluate why not consider downloading a virtual PC image from Microsoft's web site. There's definitely one available for CRM 3.0, not sure if one for CRM 4.0 has been released yet. This will save you having to mess around with your network.

  • 1- Active directory is mandatory requirement for CRM 3.0 installation.. as it need OU - organizational unit.

See CRM IMplementation guide.. Also you can download VPC for CRM 3.0 and CRM 4.0 is available.

As the RTM code for CRM 4.0 is now available (http://philiprichardson.org/blog/post/CRM-40-Downloads.aspx), I figure it's time to start recording some of the changes from CRM 3.0, and associated upgrade issues.
