Self-uninstall RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have recently purchased a new laptop that came with onecare. The moment I connected the internet it started updating itself. However, I accidently started another installation program while the onecare update was running. Somehow this caused onecare to not only stop updating but to entirely wipe itself from my computer. As I do not have a disc to reinstall, I'd like to know if there's any way I can retrieve the program.

  • Jacob_P,

Thank you for visiting the OneCare Program forums.

OneCare comes in a trial version and you may have been using it since the wipeout.  If you've purchased the OneCare

subscription, you can use your Live ID associated with the subscription to re-subscribe by downloading OneCare from the internet and click subscribe.

You may want to first check to make sure OneCare is not on your system by going to Add/Remove Programs.

(Start, Run and type appwiz.cpl, Scroll down to OneCare if shown and remove)

Next, run the OneCare Clean up tool found here at:

Install OneCare from the OneCare website:
    I hope this helps,
