  • Hello MMHall1974,

While I can guess that the solution to your situation would be the same as if an entire Office installation were doing the same thing, we have had very few, if any, people post regarding one single application program displaying the behavior you described.  So, I think the best thing for you would be to request free email tech support immediately.

Please follow this link to do so:  http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?Gprif=11482

Please post back to let us know how they fixed it for you :-)

  • You guys can keep saying that nobody has this problem but it's all over the Internet. Plus, I can't find any way to find an e-mail address or phone number to contact support. I'm just sent on a wild goose chase that usually ends up telling me I need to buy the product.

I have a retail version of Office Proffesional 2007. Outlook 2007 shows as registered but when I open the app it says that it's not genuine. No other apps do this and the copy installed on my other computer (I bought a 3 user license) doesn't do this.

I've followed hacks on the Internet to disable this message but when my computer does windows updates, it comes back. My next step will be to turn off updates to keep this message from coming back.

Please post a solution to this or at least admit it's a problem.

  • Hello NicksGarage,

The OP posted that their standalone installation of Outlook 2007 was triggering notices about being nongenuine.  This is very different from your situation where your Office Professional 2007 installation only displays nongenuine notices when you start Outlook, a component program of Office Professional.

Before you post your mgadiag report in your own thread (rather than piggybacking on this older, answered thread), I can predict with a pretty good degree of certainty that your installation of Office Professional 2007 will turn out to be a nongenuine Volume Licensing installation of Office Professional Plus 2007.  Why?  Because you mentioned that you bought "a 3 user license."  The most prominent place where nongenuine Office Professional Plus 2007 is "sold" as a "3 user license" for Office Professional 2007 is on eBay.  Please note that there are no Office products sold at retail on a per-user basis, and there is only one Office 2007 product that is sold at retail with a license that allows installation on up to three computers, and that is Office Home and Student 2007, which is permitted to be installed on three computers in the same household when used for noncommerical purposes.

The good news is that quite often, the copies of Office "Professional" 2007 sold on eBay and other sites are quite good counterfeits, and if so, may qualify you to get complimentary replacements from Microsoft.

    So, please do this:

Make a new thread in this forum.  Then follow these instructions:

In order to recieve the best support, we request all users initially download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. Click the "Continue" button, click the "Copy" button, then paste the report into your post.

You may want to post two reports (in separate posts within the same thread) so we can check both computers, since you mentioned that one computer does display nongenuine Office notices and one does not.
