How to dismount viewed backup volume? RRS feed

  • Question

  • WHS has just come to my rescue by enabling me to recover some files from a backup :-)

I viewed a backup of my 'C' drive and opened it. It appeared as the 'Y' drive on my system. I then recovered the required files.  I am using Directory Opus as my file explorer. I am unable to work out how to close / dismount the 'Y' volume. I have looked on the forum but so far been unable to find any help on this.

  • Hi,
in Windows Explorer (Vista) the Z: drive disappears as soon as the initially opened window with its content (with that WHS banner on top) got closed.
If you use another file explorer I am not sure, maybe it is enough to close that Explorer window as well or maybe you have to log off.
    Best greetings from Germany
