Have live ID, can't subscribe to OneCare RRS feed

  • I've tried everything that Live Help suggested, just short of a complete uninstall and then reinstall OneCare.  Whenever I try to Subscribe--and I have a Live ID, i.e. mesmeric85@hotmail.com -- I receive the following Error Message: 

     

     

    OneCare Activation can not continue

     

    OneCare activation can not continue because network problems are preventing connection to the service or the service is unavailable.  Please check your connection and then try activating OneCare again.

     

     

    I use comcast cable, using a cable modem and I'm able to access the internet for anything else that I attempt, e.g. ie8 brings up all my windows.  I wonder if ie8 can be the problem?  Anyway, I've tried many times after Live Help suggestions, and the only suggested I avoided was to ininstall OneCare and then reinstall it.  Can anyone help with this?

     

    P.S.  Is there another way to check my connection other than just using it, e.g. opening a website such as www.msn.com ?
