WGA Plugin crashes Firefox 3 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • It appears from the bug report that the WGA plugin for Firefox will crash Firefox, so it has been added to the blocklist.  Firefox 3 users cannot download WGA content.

  • Come on Microsoft, a new version of the plug in please. That god awful manual verification method is painful to say the least.

  • I think microsoft isn't making a new version to force users either do take the god awful manual verification or use their own browser, which i personally consider crappy.

  • Hello,

Please see the stick post on page one of this forum titled "Alert - FireFox 3.0 issue Validating Windows" http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3541871&SiteID=25

Please also Note that this issue has been resolve. Mozilla have removed the WGA Plugin from thier Block List. Any user that has downloaded the the WGA Plugin while it was still on the FireFox block list will need to folllow the below steps to get the WGA Plugin to start working again:

    1.       The user is required to delete the old plug-in.

    2.       The user may need to wait (up to) 24 hours to pass while their client makes a call to the Mozilla block-list and gets updated.

    3.       The user can then visit http://microsoft.com/genuine and validate.

    4.       The alternatives of using IE is still a valid option.

    Thank you,
