  • hello. my mum bought me this laptop for christmas as i need it for school and college. it is windows vista business. when she bought it it had the microsoft office trial version on it, so my mum bought the new microsort office 2007 that has access, excel, outlook, powerpoint, publisher and word. she asked the shop that she bought it fom to install it for me as a supprise. when i got the laptop the person from te shop forgot to put the product key and microsoft office 2007 case inside the laptop box, so when i tryed to use microsoft word it said enter product key. i got a default product key from the activation box and it said i had 60 days free trial. mum then told me that she bought me the full product and this annoyed me. i then telephoned the man at the shop were the laptop was from and he said that he threw the product key and office cace in the bin. he then said he had a spare product key which he gave to me. i then tryed to enter it so that i could activate my full version of microsoft office. the "enter product Key" box then said that the product key was accepted ( a little tick came on screen). it then said to restart microsoft word to activate the full version, but when i did it said microsoft office 60 day trial over.  so now i need the orriginal full version product key which the man in the shop threw away, or my microsoft office will not work and my mum has wasted £350 on one of your products that is no use to me as it wont accept any key.

will you be able to help me out because it is a waste of money otherwise. will you be able to give me my full version product key please. please reply fast as i need to do some important work on microsoft word.

  • People that sell genuine Microsoft software are legally obligated to give you the entire software package, including the original packaging, installation disc, product key, and Certificate of Authenticity (COA).  You need to have your mum find the original receipt and return to the store and request an immediate refund for the Office product purchased.  Then find a reliable software store and repurchase Microsoft Office 2007.

  • Your next step is to contact your local law enforcement official and have them meet your mum at the seller's place of business.  If your mum did indeed pay for the software and never received it, this is a case of fraud.

  • Hello Jackjones,

I completly agree with Carey. And Microsoft would not get involved, in what appears to be, a Legal or Civil issue between your Mum and the Shop Owner.
