Windows 7 Enterprise trial Says not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I just booted my pc today and found my copy of enterprise trial expired. The Problem is that it has not been a month since i installed and activated it succesfully. i tried to reactivate but it says that my copy is not genuine. I suspect it may have to do with a boot repair i made yesterday after an unexpected shutdown. Any idea how to fix this without a full reinstall?

    I'll need more details.
What was the boot repair you're referring to?
What was the reason for the unexpected shutdown?
    Hi,

So the unexpected shutdown was because my Notebook got too hot (had accidentally blocked the venting)  and it shutdown to protect the CPU.
After the Shutdown Windows went in automatic repair mode that i could not interrupt.
When it was up again it was deactivated and even though i tried to reactivate it was now flagged as not genuine.

I Even tried to roll-back to a previous saving point (being the first saving point after the system activation almost a month ago) and it was still flagged as not genuine.

In the end i figured that since it seemed i would have to reinstall anyway i would better do it on Sunday when i had time :).
Formated everything, Reinstalled and it is now activated. However it would seem strange that a Enterprise Trial version would be flagged as not genuine. Another thing i noticed was that the watermark on the Desktop that notifies the trial Version was not present anymore when it was deactivated.

Thanks to all for your help
    Regards,

  • Hi,
    Check the date.
Happened to me once after a crash. BIOS date was set back to january 1 2000. Windows build 7000 wouldn't run anymore.

  • Hello Eltjon,

Windows 7 enterprise version used the Volume License Key activation and we could not activate/genuine the product in the common way. It would automatically try to locate a KMS(Key Management Service) in your network after installation or you can chose to enter the MAK(Multiple activation key) and the system will no longer look for a KMS.

For more details, please refer to the following hyperlink.

For the home user, I suggest you choose one product from Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate version. I feel say to say that you need to clean install the system and reinstall all applications. Thanks for your time and understanding!
