You are right, MCITP is a bit outdated as it covers Windows Server 2008 (R2).
There is certifocation about networking among entery level exams, MTA
Networking Fundamentals
Most of Microsoft exams today don't give you specialist certificate after passing only one exam.
If you are into administration, you should think about certification track that replaced MCITP Windows Server Administration ,
MCSA: Windows Server 2012
It requires three exams to pass and you can upgrade to
MCSE: Server Infrastructure with two exams more.
It may take some time to pass three or five exams but in the end it will be well worth it as these certificates earn you some respect when interviewing for job.
