Hi kartik,
Can use "Send E-mail" step.
And check "Options for Automatic Processes" on "Start when : Record is created".

Hi Kartik,
It is possible through out of box CRM workflow steps with out doing any custom development (coding). It is better if you read some books or SDK or blogs to get more idea about Workflows. It won't be possible here to explain all the steps. In CRM 2011, it is called Process, to work email you need to configure email settings as well.
Please refer following links and try to get the books.
