Invalid Product Key Windows 7 Ultimate RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using Windows 7 Ultimate for about a year now on my Toshiba Satelitte and I have now had this problem occur twice. I suddenly get an error message saying that I have "an invalid product key and could be the victom of counterfeit software". I have already rebuilt this pc once, which caused major headache and now that I am getting this error again I need to find a better solution. PLEASE HELP!!

Here are the results of my diagnostic report.

  • Hello, Mi2xist

The key is showing as valid, but it is an upgrade license. When you rebuilt the computer, did you reinstall the previous version of Windows first?
If not, reinstall your Windows Home Premium then run the upgrade to Ultimate and you should be good.
