    I bought the Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade package this morning, as my system was telling me that the software on my system may be counterfeit.  I have the activation code, what can I do next to run the new system?

    Upgrade package?
    You obviously like making life difficult for yourself :)
    With an Upgrade pack, you'll have to reinstall the original OS first, and then upgrade that using the pack.
    If you'd bought the Full Retail version, you could have just swapped the Key into the current install in the short term.

    It looks like microsoft is having a problem with there validations servers.  Lots of people having issues today.  So far they are not acknowledging the issue here.
