Synchronize Outlook Categories to CRM or vice versa RRS feed

  • hi community!

    does anybody know how to sychronize categories (from tasks, mails, calendar entries) from outlook to crm or vice versa! in my opionion it's no previewed with onbard features, isn't it?

    thanks for your help.

  • Unfortunately, Outlook categories do not sync to CRM.

  • thanks for the replies. that's very bad luck.

    one more thing. in a crm task you have the field category and subcategory at the bottom. so this won't be synchronized to outlook and it's for nothing isn't it?

    i meant that it is now possbile with crm 2011, but my tests were all unsuccessful. any idea?

  • As far as I know nothing has changed in this regard in CRM 2011. The Outlook mappings are still hard-coded.

  • I have just had a play with 2011 and can confirm in 2011 the categories do not sync. The only way to have CRM categories sync to Outlook would be to hide the current fields and rename a field which is coded to sync to Outlook. It would not go to the categories but would be usable for searches.
