  • Question

  • Hi.  I'm in verification limbo.  I simply posted a screenshot to the SQL forum and got a notice that I'm in verification pending status.  Can I be reinstated, please?

  • Should happen automatically or you can also add a post the current verification thread.

  • OK, call me stupid but I guess I don't get this.  I'm to go to this particular thread (I don't want to show the link for fear of having this one blocked) and once there, what exactly am I supposed to do there?  The instructions in the "sticky" say to expedite do a reply to the sticky.  Well, I did that.  Don't know if I'm now verified - there's no feedback from that action.

Then, what started all this was I spent a lot of time and effort creating a post in the SQL Express forum to let them know some additional details on the problem I'm having while unaware that this verification process was waiting to grab me.  When I submitted the post (and yes it did have a link to a screenshot I was using to illustrate), a pop-up explained that the post was blocked because of verification.  Well, if I'm somehow past this verification hurdle, will that post be released?  Or is all that work (an hour's worth) simply discarded?

I'm sorry but I think this verification process, while certainly necessary, is poorly explained.

An admin will now be able to verify your account and will post in that thread to let you know when the process has been completed. It's a manual process, so it may take a little while before it's done.

You'll need to repost. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear...

I completely agree with you, and you're not the first person to mention this. Hopefully a new mechanism will be implemented at some point in the future.

  • OK, it's explained now and I'm happy.  There should be a way to preserve the work rather than summarily tossing it without recovery.  But I'm sure that's not your call.
