My PC IS ONLINE, but Online Live Mesh Remote Desktop is not available

Question
-
I am running Live Mesh on my Windows XP Professional with SP3, the notifier shows that both my local and remote computers are online, but they BOTH have the same Status: Online Live Mesh Remote Desktop is not available, and I just can't connect to the remote PC using Live Mesh, what's wrong? This problem did not show up when I first tried Live Mesh about 2 months ago, but now almost 99 out of 100 times, I will surely encouter the problem. I truly hope that someone will help me figure it out, thank!Thursday, June 18, 2009 3:56 AM

It would be best if you both submitted bug reports with logs from your affected machines to help the Live Mesh team diagnose the issue and, if it is a flaw in Live Mesn, resolve it or provide a workaround.

I am also seeing this issue on both my XP SP2 and Vista 64-bit SP1 machines. I have uninstalled and reinstalled LiveMesh (latest version, obtained on 18/6) on both, restarting between each, and the issue still remains.
When I install, I don't see the options to install the remote desktop enhancements, and there is no notification icon prompting me to do so, so I assume that the enhancements are already installed.Has anyone seen something similar? Thanks

I have submitted the Live Mesh log file from my office, a file of about 10-Mega bytes. It seems that these issues show up frequently, and I doubt the developers will reproduce them easily.Friday, June 19, 2009 8:45 AM

The logs should contain lots of details that may reveal the cause. Thanks for submitting them.

I've same problem with u, online(file sync works fine) but Live Mesh Remote Desktop is not available.
I found that Failed to connect to RAG ag.mesh.com Error=WLC_ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILED in wlcrasvc.exe.log.
Can you check the log? maybe same with me.

Jacky,
I exactly have the same problem for about 10 days.
I think it's problem relating with ag.mesh.com.
If so, mesh developers, why this issue lasts so long time?
Please resolve this ASAP. Live mesh RDP is really a cool feature and has great effect on my daily life.
Thanks

I've experienced this for the last week or more as well. I've tried uninstall and reinstall, repair, reboot, and now searching these forums. Last month it would connect through 2 firewalls without a blip, now on the same LAN they wil not connect. I keep getting errors on the Vista computer that says remote desktop is unavailable.
I look forward to any information about this error.

i am not sure about how to bypass this everywhere WLC_ERROR_AUTHENTICATION_FAILED issue, a fact is that successful connection to ag.mesh.com can be built thru microsoft internal proxy which cannot be accessed from external network.Wednesday, July 1, 2009 8:21 PM

This issue has not been resolved yet! I noticed that when live mesh is installed right after the installation of the OS, this problem does not show up, but after some time of usage, the online status of the on-line computer will not be available, and live mesh reports that:
"This device is synchronizing but cannot be remotely accessed. Check the Live Mesh notifier on the device to see if Live Mesh remote desktop enhancements need to be installed."Wednesday, October 21, 2009 5:23 AM -
Update your previously submitted bug report. I still feel that your issue is network related if it is intermittent.

Hi Boots,
I will update my bug report later. But I don't think it is a network related issue!Tuesday, November 10, 2009 2:51 AM -
I'm not sure what the cause might be, H. Zhang. I noticed that one of my machines is now exhibiting the same behavior, but I haven't had time to troubleshoot it.

Ensure that the proper service(s) and/or start-up files are running. For example, the Live Mesh Remote Desktop service. You can check it out by going Start --> Run --> services.mscWednesday, November 11, 2009 7:46 AM
