Synchronizing with SharePoint Server 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am attempting to Sync a local folder with a SharePoint document library. I've literally spent days looking for a solution and I am completely confused. This article (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee537578.aspx) would make you think there's a solution available but I've painfully found out that there is no SharePointSyncProvider or even a WebDAVSyncProvider.

To keep it short and sweet: What would be the best approach to sync with a SharePoint document library? Do I have to create my own custom provider based on WebDAV or SharePoint web services?

  • It is up to your scneario to decide if you want to use WebDav or SharepointServices...but

    1) You can use either one these methods GetChangesSinceToken or GetListItemChangesWithKnowledge to get changes from Sharepoint source

    2) You can use AnchorEnumerationProvider along with GetChangesSinceToken for your scenario and you don't have to write your own provider...but it depends on the details of your scenario.

If you want to use AnchorSyncProvider...you will find this in the Microsoft.Synchronization.SimpleProviders.dll

  • Hello,

I am able to use GetListItemChangesWithKnowledge method and get the changes.  However, I am stuck on how to use UpdateListItemsWithKnowledge method.  Could you please provide further information on this?
