Issue with Clearing fields in a workflow RRS feed

  • I have created a workflow (2) that fires on the change of a field - I have a step in that workflow that checks if the field does not contain data and if it doesn't to perform an action.

    The issue is that I have another workflow (1) that will clear that field - which then triggers (2).

    When it gets to the step in (2) where it checks if the field is does not contain data it thinks that it still does and then bypasses this condition. I removed this step and simply mapped the cleared field to a field on a second record and it updated the second record with the data I had cleared. 

    Why does CRM clear the field but not think that it is clear - I can see on the UI that it has cleared, it just seems to be reading that field as still containing data?

    Is this a known bug or has anyone else had this issue, and if yes, how do you get around it?
