Security Role setup - limit Business Unit view RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I am having trouble setting up a security role for a business unit that has child business units beneath it. In all respects the role is working as I would like apart from giving the user full viewing access of all business units in the system. They cannot access records relating to those units but they can see that they exist.

We have the business unit model set up as our client businesses and we allow them access to CRM to view information relating their business unit and their child business units. However, we do not want them to see their parent business units, and particularly other branches of parent:child business units in the tree model.

Please could someone give me some advice on how to setup the security role to limit someone with a role relating to a business unit X only seeing X and X's child business units when they are in the settings pages, or in the advanced find area?

I have already tried putting the Business Unit entity setting in the security role to all possible combinations (including no rights to view anything to do with business units) and on every occasion all units are visible.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Try to give similar privileges on the organization, user and teams also. This maybe solve the problem.

BTW, did you define the users in the appropriate business units? Did you give the business unit's security roles to the users?

  • Hi,

For which security role you need to configure the security role. In between that you can go through the following link which gives better vision on the business units and security roles.
