Remove incompatible files (windows update) without access to control panel RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you very much for your previous response.

I have detected the incompatible files which cause 'Mod-Auth' Tamper state, and then cause"an unauthorised change to windows" problem.

    They are:

Software: Windows search 4.0 for windows Vista (KB940157); version: NA; Activity: system update install; Activity status: success; Date 18/09/08

Software: Windows search 4.0 for windows Vista (KB940157); version: 103; Activity: system update install; Activity status: success; Date 18/09/08

May I ask how can I delete exactly only those two software without access to control panel?

Thank you very much for your response in advance.

    Regards,

    hzn

  • Hazn,

You would need to read each KB article for guidance. Vist http://support.microsoft.com .  Next copy/paste the kb article in the search line and hit your enter key.  Also you can go too your control panel and locate the kb article as an update and remove it this way.  Please visit Windows Vista discussion groups located @ http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.mspx and post your question here. This forum is geared for handling questions which fall outside the support scope of WGA.
