New Installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have installed CRM 4.0 Enterprise on Windows Server 2008 R2.

The installation completed fine and had me reboot. I reboot I go to the
website I specified and all I get is a white screen. Nothing looks weird in
    the event log.

    Any help is much appreciated.

  • I can take a wild guess as to what it is... it sounds like the user has the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security filter installed on their machine (also known as the Hard Admin)... go to add/remove roles, find and remove it... not quite sure how to get at it in Windows Server 2008, but it 2003, it was in add/remove windows components. It was known to cause this exact issue... as I ran into it on a box that was also a terminal server.

Once you get rid of the IE Enhanced Security you should be good to go.

  • Check your browser settings, add MS CRM 4 to the trusted website( altough it is not required), enabled javascript in the IE browser. I think this issues is because of the browser. Also open the IIS and from here right click on the Microsoft CRM(website) and click "Browse"

  • I added it to the trusted site and now I get a blue screen but at the top it says Microsoft Dynamics CRM

At the lower left hand corner there says there is an issue loading the page. When I drill in I only see this:

    Webpage error details

    User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; InfoPath.2; OfficeLiveConnector.1.4; OfficeLivePatch.1.3; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)

I have been able to recreate this on the server that CRM is installed

    Any more ideas?

  • Are  you running it in IE?
Also try to reduce your IE security settings for  local intranet, i think images are disabled in your browser thats why it is not loading, Javscript is disabled. Try to lower the security setting to medium low

    for firefox check this link

    3) Security Tab ==> Local Intranet ==> click Custom Level and set these settings
        a) Go to Scripting and enable these options
                  i) Enable Active Scripting
         b) Micllaenous
                  i) enable all options, (i think most  of htem are not required,  but you can disable them later if your page loads properly)

I am in the process of installing on diff server to see if its a server issue.

  • I was able to connect the same machine to a working CRM installation and everything displayed correctly.

I uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled CRM 4.0 and I am still having the same issue.

    Both installations are on 2008.

    Any other ideas?

  • Blasek,

    Just try this KB Article,

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/950100

    Section -
Installing Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 on Windows Server 2008

And make sure that you have all the mentioned server roles in place.

Hope this will help you in some way or the other... Thanks

    Cheers,

  • Hi Blasek,

Have you installed rollups, for example Rollup 7, 8 or 9?
    If not the install it.
Earlier there were a problem conserning the graphics not showing. But a rollup took care of that problem.

If you have installed rollups you might enable anonymous access (in IIS) to the _imgs folder

  • Hi

Go to IE-->Tools-->Internet options-->Connections-->Lan Settings-->enable use a proxy server for your lan-->click advanced-->in textbox"do not use proxy server for " add url of your ms crm server

    click apply changes everywhere

    It should work after this.

  • I suggest opening a Microsoft Support ticket so they identify the root issue.

  • Has anyone seen a resolution for this problem. Am having the same exact issue on 2008 r2. Interestingly enough, the install went perfect until we tried to open the browser to bring up the home page.

  • Same issue here, did that solution work? In Windows Server 2008 r2 I disabled IE ESC but that didn't resolve the issue, I have the same symptoms:

-blue screen but at the top it says Microsoft Dynamics CRM
-able to go to the website using http://crm/orgname/loader.aspx but none of the graphics load correctly.

Any help would be really appreciated.
