NNTP Bridge beta versions encounter "Passport Header Missing" error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Problem: when signing in with Windows Live ID on beta versions of the application, a "Passport Header Missing" error is encountered.

Solution: this is because the beta version clients are not compatible with the V1 release web service. To continue work with the NNTP Bridge, please uninstall the beta and install the V1 release of the applicationi at http://connect.microsoft.com/MicrosoftForums. Be sure to read the announcement for beta users near the bottom of that page on instructions.

    2. Complete the registration process on Connect. If you have chosen a display name on Connect, then you are already a registered users. Otherwise, you can click on "Profile" link at the top right corner of the screen to begin the short registration process.
    3. After you have registered, click here to sign up for the download. You only have to do this once.
    4. Click "Download" link on the left navigation bar to retrieve the latest build of the NNTP Bridge.

  • Is there an rignt answer for the problem? It's very long now, I have the similar question.
The right answer is to install Jochen Kalmbach's version of the bridge at

    http://communitybridge.codeplex.com/

Lots of bug fixes compared to the Microsoft versions, and it supports both MSDN/Technet... and Answers forums.

  • perhpas instead of linking to a closed connection on MS COnnect you should acutally provide a link so we can actually download NNTP Bridge
