The sign in issue may be server side. I've had to re-sign in to everything connected to my Live ID for the last few hours. I would wait until tomorrow and if Live Mesh still won't auto-sign in submit a bug report. You may have to use Internet Explorer to to use the Live Mesh remote desktop feature. Google Chrome may be unsupported for RD.

Steve,
I tried the uninstall reinstall of Live Mesh and that seems to have done the trick. It has remembered my log in info on the last several reboots. Thanks. Anyone else that has had this issued should try the same remedy.- Marked as answer by Stephen BootsMVP, Moderator Thursday, December 3, 2009 2:11 PM

I'm having this same issue across Live Mesh, Live Messenger and now Zune.
For each, I'm getting prompted to enter my password. I enter my password and check the necessary box(es) to remember my password info and sign me in automatically.
Next reboot, I have to re-enter everything. I'm not blocked from accessing any services but it is still quite annoying.
Any ideas?Monday, September 7, 2009 5:49 PM -
Do you by any chance have CCleaner installed and set to run at startup?

Similar thing here. Did not start happening until I made Chrome my default browser. I have not tried switching back to IE to see if it would correct the problem, not worth the hassle right now.Tuesday, September 8, 2009 8:44 PM

I've been having the same problem for months and I'm not even running Chrome. I just keep retyping the username and password, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only person out there with this problem.Friday, September 11, 2009 2:14 AM

xpxp2002, are you using any sort of optimizer or cleaner program that is deleting cookies at Windows start or shutdown? Windows Live Sync has this issue when it can't establish a connection to the network when it tries to login initially, but not Live Mesh.

No, the computer is basically a headless server that I use Live Mesh to keep files synced to it. It runs a plain old XP SP3 install and I don't really do anything else with it other than share files on the local network and sync them via Live Mesh.

Do you have the system set to automatically log you into Windows on reboot? When you do sign into the Live Mesh client, I assume that you are selecting the option to automatically sign you in and save the login credentials.
I don't know if there is any relationship between the saving of the Login credentials for Live Mesh and the Windows Live Sign-in Assistant, but perhaps you'll want to try installing that...

It has only one user account with no password so Windows automatically logs in. And that is the problem: I select all the checkboxes in Live Mesh but when the computer is rebooted Live Mesh forgets everything. The odd thing is that it doesn't happen on every reboot, occasionally it will remember everything and log in.
I keep the system updated with Windows Update, so the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant is already installed.Friday, September 11, 2009 6:15 PM -
Interesting. I'm not sure if the problem is due to the automatic login with no password, but the best I can suggest is for you to submit a bug report with logs per the instructions here:

I have that same configuration on another computer with XP and the problem has only happened once, just last week coincidentally. I'll file a bug report on it anyway.

Did this issue every get resolved? I have been having the same problem for a couple of months on my home PC running Windows 7 64 bit but never on my 2 PCs at work running Windows 7 Enterprise (32) and Vista Enterprise (32)Tuesday, December 1, 2009 5:16 PM

Based on the fact that only a few reports of this ever surfaced here, I'd say that there's a problem specific to that PC. You might want to reinstall Live Mesh and see if that helps. if not, file a bug report with logs from that machine:
How to Submit Bugs and Live Mesh Logs
Note that you may not receive a response to the bug report, though. It will be transferred to the internal system to be assigned to the appropriate development group.
