Can I install another motherboard and cpu without having to reinstall WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am contemplating upgrading from an AMD cpu with matching motherboard to an Intel 775 motherboard with a faster cpu. What I am wondering is whether I can replace the motherboard and cpu and just plug the hard drives and OS back in or whether I have to format everything and start from scratch. Obviously I would like the easier method but I don't want to put everything in and be presented with a situation I wasn't expecting.
Thank you for any information that would be helpful

  • In changing from AMD to Intel, with associated chipset and BIOS changes, you will need to use the server recovery/reinstallation mode of setup. You'll find more information about it here.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
