Win 7 + Homeserver.I've got ... how to enable homegroup? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've got an win 7 laptop usually connected to a domain. As far as i understand I should still be able to connect it to an existing homegroup. And if I'm not mistaken PP3 should include support for homegroups?

So - how do i create a homegroup on my windoes Home Server after installing PP3?

  • PP3 doesnt include support for Homegroups, what it does is support Windows 7 Libraries.

  • Ok, thanks for the clarification.

Would've been nice with homegroup functionality in a future PP though. Since my laptop is already in a domain I'm having a bit of trouble authenticating when I get home since the WH Server is not part of the domain. Not as seamless as I'd like - I imagine a lot of pepole out there is in the same situation. I may have misunderstood how to set this up properly off course, but when I saw the Win 7 Homegroup I thought that would solve my whole problem :-)

Its possible that in a future PP release or in the next version of WHS there might be Homegroup integration.

I think we are quite lucky to get any real Win 7 support considering its not out yet - but I know what you mean!
