Best method to back port database to pre-production?

What is the best way to take a production CRM 2011 database and back port it into a pre-production environment (different domain, one-way trust set up). Right now I've been restoring the CRM database to a new database name and then swinging it over with the Deployment Manager.

Hi.

I would suggest you the following:

Make backup of Organization DB: <organizationname>_MSCRM
copy backup file to new SQL Server
restore backup
Open CRM 2011 Deployment Manager, import organization
During the wizard use option "Keep Existing User Mapping" - if one way trust is setup from pre-production to Production Domain or changes users as per equired
