  • Question

  • Hi there, running a copy of Vista Business on my PC.  Today I get a pop-up stating that:
"There is a problem with your license so notifications will no longer appear."

I try to validate online and receive the message:
    "
This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. Either an unauthorized change was made to Windows files or a software program installed on this computer is not currently compatible with Windows Vista.  Access to the latest updates, all available features, and product support is reserved for customers running genuine Microsoft software. Until this copy of Windows passes genuine validation, certain features of Windows Vista may be disabled."

I have downloaded and installed the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool, and receive the following result:

  • Ah, I believe a little foruming has answered my question.  I was running Maple Story on this PC at the time, which runs nProtect.  According to this thread http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1122190&SiteID=25 I should just reboot and all will be well.

Is that the case in my situation?  And any news on how long a fix is likely to take?

there's an update from INCA, GameGuard's company, that states they'll be updating MapleStory next week.

    Thanks!
