how to post multiple sitemaps for one website? RRS feed

    i have made multiple sitemaps for http://www.clickindia.com because the number of URLs in one sitemap are exceeding the size limit. now, live provides only one sitemap option. where and how do i post all the URLs for indexing?

    also, although my login panel recognizes the one sitemap i have submitted, but the number of pages indexed is way too less there. example, the sitemap has around 20000 listings but live shows only 200 listings as indexed. is there something i am doing incorrectly here?

    Hi,

     

    I recomend adding your sitemap location to your robots.txt file. However, you should note that like other search engines, submitting your sitemap only provides us with better data and does not guarentee that we will index all of your pages.

    Hi Brett

    thanks for your reply. i had already added the sitemap details in robots.txt file. however, few pages have been indexed.
    i understand that it does not guarantee indexing, but if there is something tht i am doing incorrectly, i will be able to rectify it.

    i have currently added all sitemaps in robots file, and submitted an index file (for sitemaps) in live webmasters.
