PrivReportingGroup is not valid - CRM Dynamics 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • We upgrades our domain to Windows 2012 R2 AD a few months ago and in the two month, CRM keeps crashing. The first few times, we were able to reboot the server and all was well. But not that's not working. Digging into the issue more I'm seeing an error that the PrivReportingGroup is not valid. I have confirmed that the group is in AD and that the objectID is still the same. I'm hoping someone might have an answer for me that would resolve this issue.

  • I would be tempted to reinstall CRM, as that will recreate all the data that CRM uses to interact with AD. The general steps are:

    • Make a SQL backup of the organisation databases, and MSCRM_Config, just to be sure
    • Uninstall CRM from the CRM server(s)
    • Delete the MSCRM_Config database (this will be recreated during the install)
    • Reinstall CRM Server - either specify a dummy organisation name, or use a config xml to not create an organisation database
    • Import the CRM organisation database(s) via Deployment Manager

Note that, if you have Claims or IFD configured, you'd need to reapply this
