Network connection not detected? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I didn't see this particular issue coming up on the forums, so here it goes.
I successfully installed Live Mesh Mobile onto my Glofiish M700 running WM6. Whenever I try to sign-in, i get the following error:

    Sign-in Failed
    No network connection was detected.
Check your connection and try again.

However, I can use Live Messenger, Internet Explorer and any other application that tries to connect to the internet. My phone is continuously connected to an Edge network.

Are there any issues known in this area ? And is there anything else I might need to check or change ?

    Thanks in advance,
    David

  • Closer inspection of my log files by the Live Mesh team showed that my device's clock was more than 1 hour out of sync with the server. Apparently, this is a security precaution.
    Thanks for the help !

  • Hi David,

Though it's for a different issue, have you made sure to follow these steps (from our known issues list):

Issue: I've installed the Live Mesh for Mobile client on my mobile device, but when I try to sign in I'm told there is limited availability, and I cannot add my device at this time.
Workaround: In order to add your mobile device to your mesh, you must do both of the following:
    1. Click on the appropriate promo code link (US or UK) from your computer (not your mobile device).
    2. Visit www.mesh.com from your computer (again, not from your mobile device) and add that device to your mesh from the Devices page.

Note: Please make sure that your Country/Region is correctly set on your Live ID profile page (http://account.live.com).

If that does not help, please collect the Live Mesh logs from your phone (since it installed, you should have logs - instructions are in an Announcement at the top of this forum) and send them to lmprev@microsoft.com.  Please include a description of the problem and the steps you've tried to resolve it.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • Hi Ben,

thanks for your response. I have tried the workaround but currently the service says that it's out of invitations. I signed-in with the same Windows Live account that I use for Live Mesh on my computer at home and my laptop at work.

I've zipped the logs and send them to the e-mail address you provided.

    Thanks again,
    David

    Hi David,

Please note that Live Mesh for Mobile is currently a limited technology preview, available in the US and UK only, with limited spots.  We will be adding more space (and more countries/regions) as quickly as possible.  This, of course, would not explain the error about a lack of network connection, but it could explain the "out of invitations" message you're seeing now.

    Thanks,

    Ben.

  • I am facing the same problem on my T-Mobile MDA phone. Even though a Wifi and a GPRS connection is active, Live Mesh says that no network is detected and I am not able to sign in to Windows Live using my Live ID.I have sent the error logs to the given email ID.
